Let me start out by saying that In my opinion that there is total and complete recovery from addiction. I do not believe the saying that once an addict always an addict. I’ve been addiction free for 28 years. Unfortunately, my Addiction Recovery did not come from experiencing a program. My family was not aware of the Equanimity and Christianity available to us during my addiction. For me it finally came down to a choice. I had to chose between my marriage or my addiction. Fortunately, I was in a place where I made the best choice and choose my marriage. It took along time and a lot of work to overcome my addiction.
Locating the cause for my addiction was key (and took the longest) but, when the root issue was discovered I began my Addiction Recovery. Like so many addicts I began out smoking pot and progressed from there until I used to be doing my drug associated with preference daily at the fee for everything and everyone around me. I lost precious time with my oldest daughter and many years of a meaningful relationship with our family. On your addiction you don’t genuinely have friends, you might have your partying buddies and when a crisis arises in your lifetime they may be no where that can be found. Real friends walk together with you through all of it. My addiction included alcohol as well as drugs and I drank almost everyday. From the time I made the decision to prevent the addiction cycle inside my life, it became a step at any given time plus it was hard.
After I began emerging from my addictive lifestyle what I found in its wake was lots of fear and insecurities within myself, broken relationships without any real idea the things i would do along with the rest of my well being. I truly began one step at a time then one day at the same time. During my recovery my brother was killed in a motorcycle accident and thru that grieving process is when I decided to allow God into help me. It took several years but healing came, direction for my entire life came and my marriage flourished. I completed High School, graduated from College and have started my own business, which now includes a business that allows me to work from home by way of a blogging service.
Addiction Recovery Is Achievable. Once the root cause of the addiction is identified and worked through then your primary reason for the addiction is no longer an aspect. For many who remain addicts in their lives this is due to they may have not identified their cause, are certainly not willing to get through their issues and allow healing to take place. Many want to remain a victim of the circumstance, not realizing exactly what the future would hold to them should they would forget about their victim mentality. Building a relationship with God was key for my recovery, it is actually through that relationship that true healing happened.
My desire for drugs and alcohol is totally gone. Through building a relationship with God my self worth was restored, relationships were restored and that i discovered a feeling of purpose for my entire life. Through my recovery I gained the skill set needed to turn into a better wife, mother, friend and employee ( which now has developed into a business owner). My way to recovery may have taken a lot different route if we had known regarding the programs around to us. Programs for addiction recovery are valuable tools, not just to the addicts but to there families too.
Addiction Recovery and Programs. Although I ultimately gained freedom from my addictions a software program for addiction recovery might have been a great help to me. Programs offer support systems, counseling, aide in identifying your triggers. Programs offer tools that you can use throughout your daily life for a number of situations which you will face. Programs also provide you the opportunity to escape your familiar surroundings which aides within your recovery process. After many years of addiction recovery I began vxktfb for Teen Challenge that is a faith-based addiction recovery program:.
First as being a Development Director then as being a Program Director. While this is an excellent program there have been some additional steps which i wanted to offer those seeking help, so my hubby and i also opened our own recovery program and for a long time we welcomed those seeking help into our home. They lived along with us for about annually and we dealt with them in depth, it absolutely was just about the most rewarding experience We have ever endured within my life.
We closed the program because we knew it was time to go in a different direction with our lives, but we have been always reaching out to those searching for help themselves or a family member looking for help for one which they love. I am about to start doing a bit of volunteer employ a program inside our area. Working to help addicts overcome their addiction is quite rewarding work and it is a thing that I am going to be a part of for the rest of my well being in one method or another. If you or someone inside your family members are experiencing addiction, research recovery programs and you may find the appropriate fit to suit your needs. Allow yourselves to heal, allow yourself addiction recovery and to lead a fulfilling life.
